Harry Lange was a legend in the field of space technology and exploration. Before transitioning into the movie business, he headed the Future Projects Section at NASA and was Stanley Kubrick's Production Designer on the iconic movie, '2001: A Space Odyssey'. He was nominated, along with his team members, for an Academy Award for 'Best Art Direction' for '2001'and additionally won 1969's BAFTA Award for his visionary work. He and his team members were also nominated for an Oscar for 'Best Art Direction' for George Lucas's ' The Empire Strikes Back'. Lange also worked on ''Star Wars' and 'Return of the Jedi'. Impressed with his work, legendary Bond Producer, Albert R. 'Cubby' Broccoli, secured his services as art director for the all-important climactic space station sequence in 'Moonraker'.

Moonraker was the last of three Bond movies to be directed by iconic British director, Lewis Gilbert (Alfie, Educating Rita, Shirley Valentine) and also features the final appearance by Richard Kiel as 'Jaws' - the unforgettable character he created in The Spy Who Loved Me. Sadly, it is also the final Bond movie to feature beloved British actor, Bernard Lee, as 'M" and the last, to date, to showcase a title song by Shirley Bassey (Goldfinger and Diamonds are Forever).

Moonraker was released to capitalise on the 'space craze' created by Star Wars, which was released two years earlier. It grossed US$210.3 million at the worldwide box office, which is US$1,110,162,764 when adjusted for inflation. Derek Weddings, Paul Wilson and John Evans were all nominated for the Academy Award for best Visual Effects.

Both boards have very creased corners and pinholes with some wear to the images themselves but are in generally good condition. The illustrations were personally created by Harry Lange and originate from his estate.

Comes with own Certificate of Authenticity.
