A stunning and entirely unique shadowbox presentation featuring an original 'Chaplin' shooting script (working title “Charlie”) inscribed by beloved multi-award-winning British director, Richard Attenborough (Gandhi, Cry Freedom, A Bridge Too Far).

Studio-bound and bradded, this 124-page script comes complete with multi-colour revision pages. The black cover features a printed white cameo graphic of Chaplin as his iconic “Little Tramp” character. Below the image is printed, “Richard Attenborough’s film Charlie”. The first page of the script is printed with production credits and inscribed in black pen: “Highest wishes & grateful thanks Marcy , Dickie A., Santa Clarita Dec. ‘91”.

The cover and pages are clean, exhibiting only minor wear from production use, but are otherwise In very good condition. The shadowbox also showcases a 10 x 8 in. black and white production photo of an exterior period movie set from the film.

Released by Carolco Pictures with distribution by Tri-Star in 1992, Chaplin is a biographical comedy-drama about the life of legendary British comedian, Charlie Chaplin - one of the biggest movie stars of all time. A work of passion, the movie was produced and directed by Richard 'Dickie' Attenborough and stars Robert Downey Jr. as Chaplin and features co-stars, Marisa Tomei, Dan Ackroyd, Ann Miller and Kevin Kline with Chaplin's daughter, Geraldine, playing the role of her own paternal grandmother.

Chaplin was nominated for three Academy Awards for Best Actor, Best Original Score and Best Art Direction. Robert Downey Jr's incredibly nuanced performance won universal acclaim, and he was nominated for Best Actor at The Academy Awards, The BAFTA Awards and The Golden Globe Awards. He would finally win at BAFTA much to the delight of the assembled audience.

This wonderful piece of movie history comes directly from the personal collection of Unit Publicist, Marcy Bolotin.
