Marilyn by Jock Carroll, 'Factory Girl'

This gorgeous gelatin silver print on Kodak paper shows Marilyn working on a production line during a visit to a factory in Canada in 1952. This lovely candid photo proudly captured by Canadian photographer, Jock Carroll (1919-1995),features his copyright stamp on the reverse, which is detailed as follows: 'CREDIT TO READ: © JOCK CARROLL / TIME INC.' It is a later press print from the world-famous Time LIfe archive and features the copyright stamp of the TIME LIFE Syndication.

Jock Carroll (March 5th, 1919 - August 5th, 1995) was a Canadian photojournalist and writer. His 40-year career in photojournalism began in the late 1940s, and his precocious talent facilitated the publication of his images in Sports Illustrated and Esquire. In 1972, Simon and Schuster published Carroll's book on the 1972 Summer Olympic Games. In 1996, Carroll's final book, 'Falling for Marilyn: The Lost Niagara Collection', was published posthumously by Stobart Publishing. The book showcases images, which Carroll had taken of Marilyn on the set of the film, Niagara, in 1952.
